Ownus stores your training data on your device first. If you use iCloud or Google device backups, it may be backed up there under their rules. We do not run a database of your workouts, and we never see that data.
Your workout data is stored on your device first. If you use your phone's normal backup tools, it may be backed up there too. We do not keep a workout database on our servers, and we never see that data. The rest of this page spells that out.
Exercises, sets, reps, weights, workout dates, programs, training sessions, equipment, locations, bodyweight entries, and app settings all sit in a database on your phone. We don't upload that database. We can't read it. We have no remote way to reach it.
If you back your phone up to iCloud or Google, your Ownus data may ride along under Apple's or Google's normal rules. Ownus itself does not ask for your name, your email, or your phone number. There is no account.
No analytics. No telemetry. No crash reporting. No advertising IDs. No ad networks. No backend that we run.
Support and feedback happen over email. When you write to support@ownus.app, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to make Ownus better. We don't use it for marketing. We don't share it.
On iPhone, Ownus can talk to Apple Health if you turn the integration on. With your permission, the app may read active energy burned and body mass samples, and write completed workout sessions and bodyweight entries back to Health.
Both happen on your device, only when you do something that triggers them. Health data never reaches us or anyone else. You can revoke access any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Payments go through Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We don't see or store your card details.
If the app offers an in-app purchase, RevenueCat handles validation. It receives a per-install anonymous ID, your store receipt, and your entitlement status. It does not receive your workout data, your name, or your email. revenuecat.com/privacy.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. The only parties that ever see anything are Apple or Google (purchases and device backups), Apple Health (only if you grant permission, only on your device), and RevenueCat (purchase validation).
Delete in app. Clear all data from inside Ownus. Because it lives on your device, deleting it really deletes it.
Revoke Health access. Turn HealthKit off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Uninstall. Removes the local database and everything in it.
Ask us anything. We'll answer.
Your data sits on your device, so its safety mostly comes from your device's own protections: passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, encryption, the OS sandbox. For anything that does cross the wire (a support email), we use HTTPS. No system is perfect.
Ownus is not built for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information. If you think we have, write to us and we'll delete it.
If we update this policy, the new version goes here with a fresh "last updated" date. Material changes get called out in the app too.

On-device first. Backup and export on your terms. No tracking. The full deed is short on purpose.
