You own the app. The data. The history.
One payment. No subscription, no tiers, no renewal.
The onus to keep it honest is ours.
No ads, no data sale, no engagement traps. Ever.
A note from the person who built this.
Ownus is meant to say two things at once. Too many workout apps are built like services first and training tools second. They ask for a subscription to do a job that can mostly happen offline, on your own device. I don't think that makes sense.
Own is the simple part. Your training history should stay yours. And if the core job of a workout tracker can happen offline, it shouldn't be sold like something you have to keep renting every month.
Onus is my side of it. If I am going to ask you to trust the app with years of training, then it is on me to keep it useful, private, and honest. No ads. No data sale. No tricks dressed up as features.
That's what the name means. You should own the tool. The burden should be on us to make it worthy of that.
P.S. The long version of this argument is at Why Ownus is not a subscription
